Derek Lothian, Chief Executive Officer
Derek became the CEO of IBAS in October 2017. Prior to his appointment, Derek held positions as President of Lothian & Associates Management Group Inc., Founding Editor of Prairie Manufacturer Magazine, and Vice President of Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters — Canada’s largest trade and industry association.
Born and raised in small-town Saskatchewan, Derek is a firm believer in community involvement. He currently sits on the boards of Innovation Saskatchewan, the SaskTel Centre, and the Saskatoon Industry Education Council, as well as on the Leaders Council at the University of Regina Faculty of Business.
He has been previously named to PR in Canada’s ‘Top 30 Under 30’ and CBC’s ‘Future 40.’ And, in 2015, he was recognized as a Premier’s Award nominee in Ontario.

Michael Gaschler, Chief Operating Officer
Mike assumed the role of COO in January 2016, and now oversees the association’s general and office operations. From 2013 through December 2015, he was IBAS’s Director of Education, and — prior to that — also served with the Insurance Brokers Association of British Columbia. Brianne McBride, Manager, Professional Development
As Manager, Professional Development, Brianne is responsible for IBAS’s extensive suite of educational and training programs, including licensing courses. She has been with IBAS since 2015, and has also held the position of Membership Coordinator. Jan Milton, Coordinator, Events & Accounting
Jan steers IBAS activities related to events coordination and bookkeeping. She is often on-the-ground, handling key logistics at many of the association’s premier annual functions, from Convention and the Golf Tournament to Company Meetings and Industry Dinner. Jordan Jensen, Coordinator, Member Services
A recent addition to the IBAS team, Jordan keeps the association humming along, and contributes to a variety of key portfolios, including membership, education, the Saskatchewan Young Brokers Network, industry promotion, and marketing. Krista Clark, Assistant, Public Relations
