Saskatchewan Summit of Young Insurance Professionals: This annual summit — held each spring — brings together more than 120 brokers, underwriters, adjusters, and other insurance professionals at similar stages of their young careers for a one-day forum focused on relationship-building, professional development, and best practices sharing.
Saskatchewan Insurance Workforce Development Coalition: Launching in 2019, this coalition is a group of brokers, carriers, adjusters, training bodies, associations, and other stakeholders, dedicated to working together to promote insurance as a first-choice career pathway for Saskatchewan’s young people.
Corporate Challenge: Entering its third year, the YBN Corporate Challenge is a fun, one-day event held each fall to raise money for a worthwhile local cause. Since its inception, more than $17,500 has been raised for the Saskatoon and Regina Food Banks.
Advocacy: The YBN is an integral part of IBAS’s policy and government relations efforts. Members of the YBN participate in IBAS’s annual Insurance Broker Day at the Legislature, as well as the annual Parliament Hill Day, hosted by the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada.
IBAS Governance: For the first time ever, in late 2018, an elected representative from the YBN Executive Committee began sitting as an Observer on the IBAS Board of Directors. Four of the current eight IBAS Board members once served on the YBN Executive Committee.
Networking & Education Events: This year, the YBN will be rolling out a refreshed networking and education strategy. While this will still include staples like the annual Christmas Mixer, it will also expand into other targeted initiatives to drive new participation.
The YBN Mentorship Program allows members to utilize the knowledge within our group to foster career growth and increase confidence.
