SUMMARY:2026 HeadsTogether Day
DESCRIPTION: \n\n2026 Mental Health Week in Canada runs May 4 – 10. An
d to spark awareness across the brokerage community, the Insurance Broke
rs Association of Saskatchewan (IBAS) has designated Friday, May 8, as t
he first-ever HeadsTogether Day — a day dedicated to shedding the stig
ma around mental health within our 150-plus member brokerages.\n\n-- How
To Get Involved --\n\nTaking part in HeadsTogether Day is simple: On Fr
iday, commit to undertaking one simple action within your brokerage —
individually or as a team — to support your mental health.\n\nSome ind
ividual activities could include:\n\n* Micro-breaks: Step away from your
screen for five minutes every hour. Walk to a window, stretch, or head
outside.\n\n* 4-7-8 breathing: This quick breathing exercise takes les
s than two minutes and helps 'reset' your nervous system.\n\n* Gratitude
notes: Jot down 1 – 3 things you're grateful for at the start and end
of your day.\n\n* Walking meetings: Take solo calls or one-on-ones on f
oot instead of sitting.\n\n* Digital boundaries: Set specific times to c
heck e-mail rather than constantly reacting.\n\n* Desk reset: Spend five
minutes tidying your workspace. A clear space reduces cognitive load.\n
\n* Phone-free lunch: Eat away from your desk and screen, even briefly.\
n\nSome team activities could include:\n\n* Check-in rounds: Start meeti
ngs with a quick 'one word / one number' check-in (i.e. "rate your energ
y on a scale of 1 – 10") to normalize talking about how people feel.\n
\n* No-meeting blocks: Collectively protect certain morning or afternoon
time slots for focused, uninterrupted work.\n\n* Team lunch: Informal,
no-agenda team lunch where work talk is off the table.\n\n* Walking grou
p: A lunchtime walking group that anyone can join on their own terms.\n\
n* Peer recognition: Call out a colleague's contribution each hour.\n\
n* "How are we doing?" retro: A brief, periodic team reflection not just
on work but on how the team is feeling — workload, energy, morale.\n\

tion (CMHA). We also encourage you to take a few minutes to read CMHA's
information kit on the importance of workplace peer support.\n\n-- Tell
Us How You Participated — And Win! --\n\nNo later than 5 p.m. on Monda
y, May 11, fill out this short online form, and you and/or your brokerag
e will be entered to win a free team lunch for your entire office as wel
l as $1,000 to be used in support of your and/or your team's mental well
ness — all courtesy of Saskatchewan Blue Cross.\n\nClick here to lear
