Continuing Education

Once an individual obtains a Property and Causality Insurance licence in Saskatchewan is obtained, it must be renewed annually by the General Insurance Council of Saskatchewan (GICS). And to maintain your licence, you must meet the GICS's continuing education (CE) requirements:

  • Restricted Auto licensees are required to complete a minimum of three (3) credit hours of CE per year; and
  • Level 1Level 2, and Level 3 licensees must complete 12 credit hours of CE per year, unless the individual has at least 25 years' experience in the general insurance industry or holds a CAIB, CPIB, or CCIB designation — in which case, only eight (8) hours are required annually.

Licensees are required to keep an accurate record of their credit hours and disclose them to the GICS on their annual licence renewal form. IBAS is an accredited course provider and will issue a certificate or letter of completion for all IBAS education courses and seminars.
