CAIB 1 Immersion (e-Delivery via Zoom)

May 2 - 8, 2020

As is likely the case with your own brokerage, the COVID-19 pandemic has forced IBAS to rethink many longstanding processes and ways of operating. We have cancelled several events and courses over the past few weeks, including the in-person delivery of our CAIB 1 immersion program in Saskatoon.

We understand, however, there is no definitive timeline for a 'return to normal' — and that access to many of our services, such as licensing education, remains vital to your ability to operate.

That is why, in lieu of cancelling our CAIB 1 intake altogether, we will be offering an 'e-delivery' of the program instead.

Through our partnership with West Coast Training's Todd Hochban, we will aim to replicate the same quality of learning and student experience that you would ordinarily receive in the classroom, but using the Zoom videoconferencing platform. Todd will mix his trademark instruction style with breakout assignments and other activities to ensure students are fully prepared to write the CAIB 1 exam.

When will this take place?

This virtual intake will run on the same dates and times as our regular CAIB immersion program, May 2 – 8, 2020.

The only difference is there will not be a dedicated exam day on May 9. The exam will need to be administered by a qualified proctor at a date that is convenient for you, or through IBAS at a later time when it is safe to do so.

What equipment will I need?

All you need to take advantage of this option is a computer with reliable internet access. For individuals who may have slower connection speeds, you may choose to mute your computer speakers and microphone, and use telephone-based audio (although you would continue to leverage the visual aspect of the delivery).

While a webcam is strongly encouraged (many devices have cameras built-in), it is not mandatory.

Anything else I need to know?

This is new for us, and we're sure there will be hiccups along the way. But we are committed to doing everything we can to support our members with innovative solutions to help you through this crisis wherever possible.

If you sign up, and the technology or methodology doesn't happen to work for you, that's not a problem — you can cancel before the course resumes on the morning of May 4 for a full refund.

We hope you will consider this new option. We're excited to give it a try!
