General Insurance Council of Saskatchewan Bylaws
The General Insurance Council of Saskatchewan (GICS) requires all licensees to complete an exam of the GICS Bylaws. There are two separate GICS Bylaws exams: the General Bylaws exam and the Auto Bylaws exam. Click here to find out which one you may require.
Self-Study
Exam preparation is by self-study. All study materials can be downloaded free-of-charge from the GICS website by clicking here. The study material for the Auto Bylaws exam is the same as the General Bylaws exam.
It is strongly suggested to become familiar with the GICS Agent Code of Conduct prior to writing the exam, the Code of Conduct can be found by clicking here.
Course & Exam Registration Process
- Step 1: Register for the course below.
- Step 2: Once you have registered, it will appear in your IBAS account under My Courses.
- Step 3: On the My Courses page, you will be able to register and pay for the online exam.

Exam Format
The General Bylaws exam consists of 15 true of false questions, 15 multiple choice questions, and 10 matching questions. The Auto Bylaws exam, meanwhile, consists of 30 multiple choice questions. The pass mark required for both exams is 75%.
