Job Description / Duties

What you’ll be doing:
Reporting to the Head of Global Insurance Products, the Claims Manager establishes guidelines for
reviewing, assessing, investigating, and resolving insurance claims. You will be the main subject matter
expert for insurance claims handling functions, ensuring legal and compliant operations.
What a typical week will be:
• Enhance the customer experience of claims and support operations and continually optimize
operational processes.
• Participate in the assembly of the reinsurance panel, establishing capacity, and developing
ratings
• Develop and implement claims adjustment manual based on NCIS standards and ensure
adjustment process conforms to jurisdictional insurance legislation and governance
• Establish and manage Third Party Administrator (TPA) agreements – servicing the area we will
require
• Oversee claims specialists who inspect, examine, investigate, and adjust claims
• Ensures Farmers Edge customer policy holders can report a claim through FarmCommand and
that the claim process is fully integrated into FarmCommand exclusive tools to assist the claims
process
• Develop claims settlement processes
• Liaise with lawyers, agents, appraisers, umpires, and or other third parties involved in complex
investigations and disputes.
• Collaborates on pioneering a new digital methodology for the future of crop adjusting using
remote sensing, imagery, and other field centric data etc.
• Participates in building, monitoring claims function for new products under development
• Trains and educates our internal teams, such as agronomy personnel, on crop adjusting

Qualifications / Required Skills

What you’ll need to succeed:
• 5 years’ experience in Claims and Operations Management, as Claims Counsel or Manager,
including leading process design of claims functions at an insurance company or TPA
• Demonstrated experience analyzing and understanding policy and coverage functions
• Hands-on experience in implementing operational strategies and driving transformational
change through innovation and technology
• Current crop hail adjuster license in any of the jurisdictions of AB, SK, and MB is an asset
