Job Description / Duties

Our small-but-mighty team at the Insurance Brokers Association of Saskatchewan (IBAS) is currently accepting applications for the position of Manager, Finance & Administration, based in Regina.

WHO WE NEED

First and foremost, you’ll need to be both self-driven and a team player. We punch above our weight class, and that requires both individual skill and a collaborative attitude.

Secondly, you must be good with numbers. A background in bookkeeping or accounting would be ideal — and bonus points if you have familiarity with Sage and/or associations like ours.

And last but not least, you should be highly organized (something you could hopefully teach our CEO). We like to keep busy, so you’ll need to prioritize, communicate effectively, and multi-task without skipping a beat or sacrificing a superior attention to detail.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Your role will be to ensure the IBAS office runs like a well-oiled machine. Specifically, you will:

1) Manage financial operations, including A/P, A/R, journal entries, fiscal reporting, audit processes, CRA filings, investment activities, as well as payroll and benefits;

2) Coordinate office operations, including IT, equipment, lease and vendor management, maintaining supply levels, and corporate filings (WCB, ISC, etc.); and

3) Provide administrative support to the President & CEO in areas such as scheduling, note-taking, planning, filing, and communications.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER

Above all else, we’ll strive every day to treat you right. To us, that means:

Compensating you fairly: Depending on skills and experience, a starting salary between $55,000 – $75,000 per year (plus benefits and a matching 5% RRSP contribution), but we’re also willing to revisit that range for the right candidate;

Being flexible: You’ll have a nice office with free parking, but we also meaningfully embrace remote work and encourage a healthy work-life balance (we don’t just say it — we walk the walk); and

Providing you the opportunity to grow: We ensure you have the space and resources you need to develop professionally. For the right person, this could include branching out into other interests within the association (from event planning to governance).
