CAIB 1 Immersion (e-Delivery via Zoom)

September 25 - October 1, 2021

When it comes to CAIB Immersion, IBAS and West Coast Training had to quickly come up with a new ‘normal’ for the delivery of the popular learning option. IBAS is happy to announce that the e-delivery Immersion course will continue until it is safe for us to meet in person once again.

Through our partnership with West Coast Training's Todd Hochban, we are able to replicate the same quality of learning and student experience that you would ordinarily receive in the classroom, but using the Zoom videoconferencing platform. Todd will mix his trademark instruction style with breakout assignments and other activities to ensure students are fully prepared to write the CAIB 1 exam.

Registration deadline is 2 p.m. September 20th, 2021!

When will this take place?

This virtual intake will run September 25 – October 1, 2021. There will be a short orientation at 6:30 p.m. September 25, followed by classes running Sunday-Friday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The only difference from our regular in person Immersion is there will not be a dedicated exam day on September 19. The exam will need to be administered by a qualified proctor at a date that is convenient for you, or through IBAS at a later time. Please note that exams MUST be completed before November 30, 2021. Any exam not completed within that time span will not be eligible for a refund.

What equipment will I need?

Other than the CAIB 1 textbook, which must be purchased separately, all you need to take advantage of this option is a computer with reliable internet access. For individuals who may have slower connection speeds, you may choose to mute your computer speakers and microphone, and use telephone-based audio (although you would continue to leverage the visual aspect of the delivery).

While a webcam is strongly encouraged (many devices have cameras built-in), it is not mandatory.

Anything else I need to know?

This is still relatively new for us, and we're sure there will be hiccups along the way. But we are committed to doing everything we can to support our members with innovative solutions to help you through this crisis wherever possible.

If you sign up, and the technology or methodology doesn't happen to work for you, that's not a problem — you can cancel before the course resumes on the morning of September 27 for a full refund.

We hope you will consider this new option.

Registered Participant Agreement

By registering for the Online CAIB 1 Immersion Course, you are agreeing to refrain from the following activities:

  • Recording of the course by any means, even for personal use;
  • Displaying or sharing course to unregistered participants; and
  • Sharing course link to unregistered participants.

Government Funding Support

IBAS has played an instrumental role in recent months ensuring members have access to two programs designed to subsidize the cost of employee training: The Re-Open Saskatchewan Training Subsidy (RSTS) and the Canada-Saskatchewan Job Grant (CSJG).

Although the RSTS application has passed, your brokerage may very well be eligible for reimbursement funding ranging between two-thirds and five-sixths of eligible costs through the CSJG. IBAS staff have deep experience with both programs and are available to advise members through the short application process. Contact Jordan Jensen at jordan.jensen@ibas.ca if you have questions.

Where do I go with questions?

Contact IBAS's Manager, Education & Operations, Jordan Jensen at jordan.jensen@ibas.ca or (306) 525-8001.

Thank You

A special thank you to our 2021 CAIB programming sponsor, Saskatchewan Mutual Insurance.
