The Insurance Brokers Association of Saskatchewan (IBAS) announced today a $2,800 donation to Envision Counselling and Support Centre Inc. as part of the 2021 #BrokersCare Campaign for Mental Health.

With offices in Estevan, Weyburn, Oxbow, and Carlyle, the charity serves a primarily-rural population across southeast Saskatchewan comprised of more than 56,000 people. Its highly trained staff specializes in dealing with trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, and other issues associated with violence, abuse, and isolation.

The funds will be used to purchase the technology required to deliver HIPA-compliant virtual counselling, crisis intervention, education, and therapeutic support services. Demand for remote, digital connectivity has skyrocketed since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, with increased client intakes across each of the organization's program areas.

“We are very proud to be able to support such an important organization that touches the lives of so many people,” says Kevin Bailey, vice president with Wawanesa Insurance, which is the exclusive presenting partner of the annual campaign. “That’s really what the #BrokersCare initiative is all about — making a meaningful difference in the communities that insurance brokers live and work.”
