Job Description / Duties

Saskatchewan Blue Cross®, one of Saskatchewan’s Top Employers, is currently recruiting for a full time Associate Account Executive to join our team located in our Saskatoon Office.

JOB FUNCTION
This role provides an exciting opportunity for someone who is customer centric and has a strong desire to drive profitable top line growth for an organization. Reporting to the Manager, Group Sales, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to the sales team in the development of new business by assisting current and potential new brokers discover their client’s benefit needs while ensuring a superior service experience. The successful incumbent will promote and service all lines of our group product offerings and manage the day to day interactions with Key Group Accounts. This individual must be highly motivated, have an aptitude for sales and a strong desire to learn all aspects of our business, be service oriented and can work effectively in a team environment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Promote and sell all group product lines including but not limited to Health, Dental, Travel and Life benefits products
• Help clients and potential clients understand and develop solutions to meet their business needs through a pro-active sales and relationship building approach
• Develop new business by supporting the team, including preparing new quotations, networking with brokers and prospecting new opportunities
• Build and strengthen existing client and broker relationships
• Periodically, support the sales team in coordinating and presenting proposals, finalist preparations and annual renewal benefit presentations
• Serve as a resource to brokers, clients and plan administrators promoting service capabilities, recommending changes and additions, as well as, explaining concepts, product offerings and benefit contracts
• Provide assistance to our support areas for escalated or complex product inquiries and customer relations issues and concerns
• Ensure follow up and timely resolution to client specific issues, projects and initiatives
• Create and deliver benefit presentations to both internal and external audiences
• Remain current with product knowledge and competitor products
• Act as a subject matter expert on market dynamics and provide continued updates to the sales team
• Other duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications / Required Skills

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sales & Marketing or related field and previous directly related experience in sales and/or account management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Preference will be given to candidates who have successfully completed the CEBS Group Benefits Associate (GBA) designation and Provincial Life Licensing program
• Candidates must have the ability to enroll and make good progress towards completing the Provincial Life Licensing program within the first year of service and must be willing to enroll and successfully complete and maintain their CEBS designation, if not previously obtained
• Previous experience in the insurance industry or an understanding of insurance products and underwriting methods is considered an asset
• Must be service oriented, responsive to our customer and company values and demonstrate an entrepreneurial approach
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, including the ability to develop and deliver presentations
• Strong computer skills, with demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft suite of products, including Word, Excel and Power Point with the ability to easily learn new programs
• Demonstrates a high level of personal accountability and professionalism
• Strong problem solving, relationship building, active listening and interpersonal skills
• Organized, analytical thinker with a mathematical aptitude
• Proven ability and desire to learn and identify innovative sales and service opportunities and techniques
• Must be highly motivated, goal-oriented and have the ability to work successfully in a team environment
• Must maintain a valid Class 5 drivers license and be insurable through the company’s auto insurance provider
• Must be willing to travel, work remotely and outside regular business hours
• The successful candidate will be required to undergo a background check. Security clearance will be required to complete licensing requirements
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada on an unrestricted basis
