Job Description / Duties

Saskatchewan Blue Cross®, one of Saskatchewan’s Top Employers, is looking for an energetic and goal-oriented individual to join our Sales department as a full time Sales Representative – Life and Health Products. As a member of the Individual Product and Sales area, you will represent the members best interests and identify health and life insurance solutions to match their needs and enhance their lifestyle.
This position offers the flexibility to be remote, in office based in our Saskatoon or Regina office, or a hybrid of remote/in office if the successful candidate resides in Saskatoon or Regina.

JOB FUNCTION
Reporting directly to the Team Lead, Individual Product and Sales, this position is responsible for presenting Personal Life and Health Plan offers to potential, new and existing members. The successful incumbent must be licensed to sell Life Insurance products and will manage retention of existing customers and potential new Personal Health Plan sales, ensuring the effective processes of the area by handling varied, fast-paced work, subject to shifting priorities in a deadline driven environment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Selling Personal Health, Life and Critical Illness Insurance Plans to potential applicants, new and existing members
• Positioning and recommending optional benefits, verifying policyholder information and scheduling payment options
• Identify opportunities for generating new sales and retain existing business by following up on applications and renewals
• Account management of individual policyholders, including the creation of letters, emails, memos, quotes, proposals, applications, renewals and other forms, documentation and reports as required
• Provide clients with a positive member experience by responding to, coordinating and effectively resolving inquiries and/or service challenges in a timely manner
• Meet sales targets, track and forecast weekly activities, sales forecasts
• Respond to correspondence, telephone and email inquiries
• Listen to, analyze, research and offer solutions that are adapted to member needs
• Update and maintain records, compile and verify information
• Work in a team environment to ensure service and sales are executed effectively
• Remain current with product knowledge, trends and technology
• Other related projects and duties as assigned

Qualifications / Required Skills

• Completion of a Post-Secondary diploma or certificate program in a related field at a recognized institution or an equivalent combination of training and experience
• Completed the Life License Qualification Program (LLQP) and provincial certification, and be in active status
• Previous experience in the insurance industry or success in a professional sales capacity would be considered an asset
• Strong computer skills and a working knowledge in Word, Excel, and email applications with a proven ability to easily learn new software
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical ability, with a commitment to accuracy and timeliness
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities while meeting frequent deadlines
• Must have strong organizational and problem solving skills
• Strong critical thinking and decision making ability
• Must be service oriented and responsive to our members
• Commitment to ongoing personal development and continuous learning with willingness to participate in industry training
• Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and within a team environment
• The successful candidate will be required to undergo a background check
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada on an unrestricted basis
