The Insurance Brokers Association of Saskatchewan (IBAS) is teaming up with Red River Mutual to make a $5,000 donation in celebration of Canada’s Agriculture Day (February 11, 2025).
This contribution will go directly to the Saskatchewan chapter of Agriculture in the Classroom — a leading not-for-profit organization that provides experiential learning opportunities and curriculum-based resources to schools and youth across the province.
“Agriculture is foundational to the social and economic fabric of Saskatchewan,” explains IBAS President & CEO Derek Lothian. “We’re home to more than 34,000 farms and 40 per cent of Canada’s cultivated farmland — not to mention our position as a global powerhouse in the export of fertilizer, value-added foods, and agricultural implements. Our members are proud to play a role in protecting and advancing this critical industry.”
Canada’s Agriculture Day — also known as Canada’s Ag Day, or #CdnAgDay on social media channels — is an annual campaign spearheaded by the Canadian Centre for Food Integrity to raise the profile of our national food system and recognize the 2.3 million Canadians who work in the sector.
“As a mutual insurer owned by its policyholders, our purpose is to be a positive force in the community and the lives of our customers,” adds Red River Mutual President & CEO Brenda Gibson. “We’re thrilled to be able to partner with IBAS to recognize Canada’s Ag Day and give back to the farming community that has been an integral part of our company’s story for more than 150 years.”
