We are very excited to announce that the first-ever #BrokersCare Day in Saskatchewan will be held on Tuesday, June 15.

This special day — hosted as part of the 2021 IBAS #BrokersCare Campaign for Mental Health — will bring together brokers and other insurance industry stakeholders from across the province (virtually, of course) to raise awareness and show support for the importance of mental wellness in our communities.

Getting involved is easy: On June 15, wear your #BrokersCare t-shirt, schedule a staff initiative, do something positive for your own mental health, or simply take a few moments to check in with your colleagues and friends. Even small actions can make big difference!

Take part for your chance to win!

At 5 p.m. on June 15, we’ll be drawing for three gift certificates to local, Saskatchewan-owned businesses of the winners' choice: One (1) grand prize of $1,000, and two (2) secondary prizes of $250 each. These prizes are generously sponsored by Wawanesa Insurance, and allow us to give back directly to the communities our members live and work.

There are two ways to enter:

1) #BrokersCare T-Shirts

For every #BrokersCare t-shirt you purchased before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11, you will receive one entry. Bought three shirts? Your name will be entered three times. $20 from every shirt purchased goes directly to fund grassroots mental health projects across Saskatchewan (see below for an overview of funding awarded to-date).

2) Get ‘Social’ on June 15

On June 15, post a photo of you wearing your #BrokersCare t-shirt — or any other mental health-themed post — on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram commemorating #BrokersCare Day and you will be entered into our draw to win. Your post must either tag IBAS’s social media account or use the hashtag #BrokersCare. If you post from your business’ account, the business name will be entered into the draw.

Winners will be contacted directly on Wednesday, June 16.

Who are you helping?

To date, through your generosity, the #BrokersCare campaign has provided project funding totaling $43,653 to 12 worthy organizations and initiatives:

  • The Do More Ag Foundation;
  • Mobile Crisis – Crisis Suicide Helpline;
  • Sask Girls United;
  • Envision Counselling and Support Centre;
  • PJ Gillen School;
  • Melfort Youth Evolution / North East Outreach and Support Services;
  • Canadian Mental Health Association;
  • Hospitality Saskatchewan;
  • FeSKival;
  • Saskatoon Industry Education Council;
  • Queen City Soccer Club; and
  • Westcliffe Community School.

But we need your help to keep going! The availability of grant funding is limited to the success of our fundraising efforts. So if you can swing it, please consider picking up (another) t-shirt, making a donation, or engaging in one of our fundraising activities throughout the remainder of the year.
