IBAS is teaming up with Sandbox Mutual Insurance to commemorate 2025 International Women’s Day (Saturday, March 8). In celebration of the pivotal role women play in Saskatchewan’s property and casualty insurance industry, IBAS and Sandbox are announcing a $10,000 joint donation to Sask Girls United.

IBAS is teaming up with Red River Mutual to make a $5,000 donation in celebration of Canada’s Agriculture Day. This contribution will go directly to the Saskatchewan chapter of Agriculture in the Classroom, which provides experiential learning opportunities to schools and youth.

Swift Current’s Chad Parenteau, a partner in W.W. Smith Insurance, has been named the recipient of the 2024 IBAS Community Leadership Award. This is IBAS's highest honour and distinguishes one outstanding brokerage or broker who has gone above and beyond to make a meaningful difference in their community.

For the first time in its five-year history, IBAS has named co-recipients of the prestigious #BrokersCare Bursary, presented by Wawanesa Insurance: Lanea Lafontaine of Regina and Lilly Church, who resides on a farm outside Annaheim. Each has received a $5,000 cash award.

IBAS is currently soliciting expressions of interest from eligible member brokers to join the IBAS board of directors, beginning on Thursday, October 29, 2024, at the association's Annual General Meeting. The deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2024.

IBAS and SGI are reminding drivers that traffic safety is the top priority when you get behind the wheel this holiday season — or any time throughout the year. More than 60 fatal collisions have already occurred across the province in 2023 — each impacting at least one family’s lives forever.

IBAS is increasing its annual sponsorship of Sask Girls United from $2,500 to $5,000 in 2023. This contribution, made through the #BrokersCare Community Fund, will directly enhance the not-for-profit's leadership development and mental wellness programming to youth aged 8 – 14 across the province.

As part of a three-year pilot program launched in partnership with SGI, fees are now waived for Restricted Auto (Part I & II) and Bylaws (General & Auto) exams written by member employees through IBAS. These exams comprise the core education requirements to qualify for a Restricted Auto Licence.

Seventeen-year-old Telia Lafontaine of Regina has been named the recipient of the 2023 IBAS Young Community Leader Bursary. This annual award was established four years ago to recognize one outgoing grade 12 student who exemplifies outstanding dedication to making their community a better place.
