Programs & Services
As part of IBAS's 2020-23 strategic plan, we deliver to our members world-class events, programs, and services aligned under our four mission priorities. These include (but are not limited to):
Networking & Social Events
Convention & AGM
The IBAS Convention & Annual General Meeting is the both association's and the insurance industry's marquis annual event in Saskatchewan, routinely attracting between 500 – 650 delegates. This event, typically held in October, alternates each year between Saskatoon and Regina.
The IBAS Golf Tournament is a fun, engaging day on the links with broker peers, carrier representatives, and other industry players. Hosted in June, registration for this popular networking event often sells out weeks in advance, so don't wait around to reserve your spot.
Saskatchewan Summit of Young Insurance Professionals
Launched for the first time in 2018, the Saskatchewan Summit of Young Insurance Professionals is a free, one-day forum that brings together brokers, carrier representatives, adjusters, and other industry stakeholders at similar, emerging stages of their careers for an interactive day of learning and best practices sharing.
The IBAS Broker Website Program provides website services to dozens of member brokerages across the province. This program addresses the need for brokers to gain quick and easy access to a low-cost web presence that meets the requirements of SGI Auto Fund’s and SGI CANADA's online services.
As part of IBAS membership, brokerages receive coverage under an association-wide umbrella surety bond — underwritten by SGI CANADA — that meets the statutory requirement to maintain a $20,000 consumer protection bond as a condition of licence. This is provided by IBAS as an exclusive member benefit and foregoes the need for the member brokerage to purchase a bond on its own.
In partnership with Sage Advisor Resources, a for-profit subsidiary of the Insurance Brokers Association of Alberta), IBAS's Member Insurance Program offers errors and omissions insurance, directors and officers insurance, and cyber insurance to member brokerages.
In partnership with Independent Financial Services, IBAS offers its members access to two specially negotiated programs: A group health program, underwritten by Saskatchewan Blue Cross; and, a group RRSP program, facilitated through Manulife.
